Fourth trimester and beyond. There is no definitive end to postpartum. Often times, mothers prioritise feeding their little ones and ignore their own nutrition needs.

During this time of recovery, nutrient needs are still changing and it’s so important for you to take care of yourself by eating well. You may be wanting to lose the “baby weight” or continue applying the healthy eating principles you developed in pregnancy.

We can discuss your goals specific to your circumstance and make a plan to feel nourished, energised, and balanced.

Breastfeeding mothers can feel overwhelmed with the demands that come with feeding a new baby, along with information and advice, often coming from family and friends. Breastfeeding requires a great deal of energy and nutrition is a vital piece to feeling well throughout this stage. Dietary restrictions may be recommended if baby is not responding well to certain foods mom eats.

If you are trying to decide whether or not to introduce formula or would like recommendations on the types available or quantities to offer, we can help you make informed choices.

We are here to support you through your motherhood journey to ensure you have an appropriate diet. We will make a plan together to keep you and your baby thriving.
