Preconception is an ideal time to improve or change eating habits. What both you and your partner eat prior to conceiving affects your pregnancy and your baby’s health.

This is the first stage of the First Thousand Days and presents an opportunity to plan for your future family’s health. Many women are told to gain or lose weight in order to increase their fertility or may have been told to start a “fertility diet”. Dietary recommendations regarding fertility are vague and sometimes focused on animal foods.

We are here to help you stay or become more plant based if you are planning a pregnancy in the coming months. We can help you learn how to eat with specific nutrients in mind that increase chances of conceiving. We will create a plan to optimize your nutrition during this stage.

Pregnancy is a life stage that comes with rapid change and can leave women feeling unwell and confused. Important questions surround pregnancy regarding managing cravings, avoiding specific foods, and getting proper nutrients in the correct amounts for growth and development.

As baby’s nutritional requirements increase, they can leave women feeling depleted. Side effects like nausea, constipation, and food aversions often accompany pregnancy and can be managed through diet.

You may have been told to change your usual way of eating or to “just start eating meat.” There is often conflicting information from loved ones, the internet, and health practitioners. We can help you navigate the wide range of information out there to make the best plant focused choices for you and your baby.

A nutrition consult can decrease common side effects and present the opportunity to discuss issues that are often ignored like exhaustion and body dissatisfaction.
